Dennis P. Freed, Principal

After a stint as a structural engineer, Dennis entered the Construction Management and Development profession in New York City, where he has led teams to construct and develop approximate 16.5 million square feet across more than sixty-five buildings.

Prior to forming his own consulting company, Dennis served as executive vice president at Macklowe Development where he led the One Wall Street development and construction team in preconstruction and demolition of the existing interiors. Prior to Macklowe, Dennis was senior vice president of development and construction at The Lightstone Group where he helped the real estate investment trust expand further into the New York City market. With Lightstone he designed and developed his first development project from start to finish. Previously, Dennis worked as Principal in Charge at Lend Lease Corporation, a worldwide construction firm where he developed more than $3 billion in high-rise buildings, mid-rise and low-rise buildings of various uses.

Dennis is a visiting professor at Pratt University where he teaches construction management development to undergraduate architecture students. He has assisted numerous of his students to obtain careers in construction management employed by the top companies in NYC.

Dennis graduated from University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering. He received a Certificate in Real Estate Studies from New York University and completed the Columbia University Graduate School of Business Executive Education Program.

Veronica W. Hackett, Principal of The Clarett Group

Veronica W. Hackett is a leader in New York and national real estate circles with a history and track record of developing notable Class A properties.

Ms. Hackett co-founded and manages a development business, The Clarett Group which is particularly known for its NYC developments, having completed 10 highrise ground up residential and mixed use developments ranging in size from 13 to 55 stories. In addition to developing projects for its own account, the company provides development advisory services to a select group of corporate and institutional clients. Ms. Hackett has managed development for one of the largest owners of office properties in the US, Brookfield Properties, overseeing a development pipeline of 9.6 million square feet across the U.S. She also has managed finance, leasing and development for privately owned Park Tower Realty, where she developed signature iconic office buildings and has managed joint ventures with JP Morgan, Prudential and IBM and was a key player in the transformation of Times Square.

In addition to Ms. Hackett’s work as a private sector developer and advisor, she has been a leading corporate and retail real estate executive in the U.S., Europe and Japan (managing development for two public retail real estate companies), a banker (rising from trainee to an executive officer of a predecessor bank of JPMorgan Chase), a Wall Street financial analyst and an economic analyst.

Ms. Hackett has been the recipient of several awards and honors, including being named one of NYC’s “100 Most Influential Women in Business” by Crain’s New York Business, as well as “One of the 100 Most Important People in Real Estate” by The New York Observer. She has been a Trustee of the Urban Land Institute and an executive committee member of REBNY (Real Estate Board of New York), two of the country’s most prestigious industry organizations.
